Recently, I was proud to create images for We Testify, a campaign from the National Network of Abortion Funds that seeks to enrich the conversation around abortion for cultural and policy change. The image below is a screenshot of the project's homepage at wetestify.org.
IF YOU WANT ONE OF THESE DESIGNS TATTOOED, either as they are or with different words in the banners, I will proudly donate the full amount to We Testify. Email me to schedule.
IF YOU WANT ONE TATTOOED BUT CAN'T COME TO ME FOR IT, please have it tattooed by your local tattooer and match the cost with a donation to the organization of your choice. If you post on social media, use #WeTestifyTattoos to spread the word.
IF YOU ARE A TATTOOER AND WOULD LIKE TO OFFER THESE DESIGNS AND DONATE YOUR PROFIT, please do so! If you post on social media, use #WeTestifyTattoos to spread the word.
Halloween kewpies are here for the month of October! I'm doing something a little different with these guys. Instead of one-offs, I'm tattooing them on anyone who wants them, but only between now and Oct. 31st. I also made some Halloween one-offs, which you can see on the up-for-grabs page. To claim your favorite kewpie or one of the one-offs, email evie[at]showpigeon.com.
Big thanks to Aimee Murillo for featuring my collaboration with Miss Ladybug in her OC Weekly column this week! Check out the article here, and be sure to save the date for our pop up on September 25th!
Sunday September 25, Show Pigeon Tattoo presents a Miss Ladybug Pop Up Shop featuring our latest collaboration, "Kewpie Surprise." Las Doughs Brujas will be with us too, vending their delectable treats. More details to come, including info about free swag and giveaways! xox
You might have heard that Butterfat Studios Chicago is closing in October (read more at butterfatstudios.com). I'm visiting soon for my last guest spot there, taking appointments on September 9, 10, and 11.
As you might imagine, I have lots of mushy feelings about this. After apprenticing under Esther, I helped her open Butterfat in its current spot, and for its first two years she and I were the crew there. A work opportunity for my husband took me to California in 2012, and California became an amazing opportunity for me too, but Butterfat has always been a home to me, filled with people I love.
This won't be my last Chicago visit, but visits will likely be less frequent. To book one of my openings for this last Butterfat guest spot, email showpigeon.com/upforgrabs. In your email, please include what piece you want, where it will go on your body, and what days of my trip would work for you. I am NOT taking custom projects in Chicago at this firstname.lastname@example.org . I'll be working from my one-off flash, viewable at
Thank you as always for your interest in and support of my work!
Thank you to the amazing folks who joined me for Show Pigeon Tattoo's grand opening celebration, and thank you to those who couldn't attend but sent lovely messages throughout the day. I have the most amazing clients, friends, and family, and I am so happy and grateful for your support!
I'm excited to announce that I'll be guesting with the talented crew at Torch Tattoo in Anaheim while I work on opening my private studio. To book, please email email@example.com. My availability is limited, with priority going to those looking for pieces from my one-off flash. (For updates on my new studio, please subscribe to Show Pigeon News through showpigeon.com/contact.)
I’m excited to announce the next step in my tattoo career: the birth of Show Pigeon Tattoo Studio. Over the coming months, I'll be opening up my very own private studio here in Orange County.
As I work to build Show Pigeon Tattoo, I will still have a temporary home at Laguna Ink Spot (and all currently scheduled appointments will take place as planned). But along with my own transition, Laguna Ink Spot will soon evolve into Renee Bangerter Art, a full service art gallery.
I will keep everyone posted as to the details of Show Pigeon Tattoo’s opening. It is because of your continued support that I am able to take this next step, and I can’t thank you enough for taking it with me.
As always, please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
With love and gratitude,
You are cordially invited to the opening of my upcoming show! I've partnered with Vanessa Gaston, who is handcrafting frames out of wood, canvas, and delicate floral embroidery. We're taking our inspiration from women's folk art during the Victorian era, as a nod to their mark on art history. Their work was not considered fine art, but it was no less painstaking, gorgeous, and influential. Join us for the opening of Spitshade and Fancywork on July 2nd!
I am excited to participating in this upcoming event at Butterfat Studios in Chicago, featuring blackwork tattoos and black themed food. Go to http://www.butterfatstudios.com/…/buttercream-noir-deposit-… to book an appointment with me. (When you select your item and click "add to cart," you will be prompted to review all of the pertinent info before committing to buy).
I'm super excited to be featured in Under Their Skin by Josh Chesler, a column in OC Weekly that highlights tattooers in Orange County. Read the article on the OC Weekly blog, or catch it in the print edition later this week.
I'm offering three new flash pieces at a special price between now and Friday March 13th. Email evie[at]showpigeon.com for details and to claim one.
I'm heading to Chicago for a guest spot back at Butterfat Studios from January 16-22. My trips tend to book up before I have the chance to post about them online, so If you are interested in booking with me in Chicago, the best thing to do is email me at evie[at]showpigeon.com so I can put you on my waitlist. (Please note, for new clients in Chicago I am only taking custom projects in blackwork or black and red. I am also always up for working from my available flash.)
New flash has been added to the "Available Flash" gallery for Christmastime! As always, the pieces are available as one-offs, first come first served. Email evie[at]showpigeon.com to claim one.
